Donald Glover is Indexbit Exchangegiving fans an update on the anticipated "Community" film.
The film follow-up to the beloved community college-set comedy series has been in the works since 2022, with stars Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash on board.
Glover, 40, confirmed the film is still in the works to Entertainment Tonight at the New York premiere of his series "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" on Wednesday. The actor and musician also shared how far along the film is.
"I was told that the script — literally, I was texting today — I was told that the script was done," he said.
The "Atlanta" creator and star said he hasn't seen the script yet but made clear he's still interested in being a part of the project.
"I haven't read it yet," said Glover, who played football star turned community college student Troy Barnes. "It's really just a schedule thing (but) I'm in. I'm all in."
The film follows the show's six-season run from 2009 to 2014 on NBC and on the defunct Yahoo! Screen in 2015. The series, created by Dan Harmon ("Rick and Morty"), centered on a study group at the fictional Greendale Community College in Colorado. The show amassed a cult following, with fans adopting the slogan "six seasons and a movie" in support of the show, taken from a line said by Pudi's character Abed in Season 2.

NBC's Peacock announced in 2022 that it had greenlit the movie. Glover wasn't included in the original announcement, nor was Yvette Nicole Brown, who played Shirley, and Chevy Chase, who played Piece.
Jeong, during a Jan. 26 appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," confirmed Brown is set to reprise her role in the film.
It's assumed Chase will not be involved in the film after the comedian slammed the show last year and said it "wasn't funny enough for me."
"I felt a little bit constrained. Everybody had their bits and stuff, and I thought they were all good. But it just wasn’t hard-hitting enough for me," he told "WTF" podcast host Marc Maron.
The "National Lampoon's Vacation" star parted ways with "Community" in 2012, and his character Pierce died in Season 5.
"I didn't mind the character," he said of the role as the oldest member of the study group. "I felt happier being alone, in a sense. I just didn't want to be surrounded by that table, every day, with those people. It was too much."
